Why 432 Hz Feels Different

A small shift, a big difference
Most modern music is tuned to A = 440 Hz. Switch that anchor down by eight cycles per second, and something subtle changes: shoulders drop, breath slows, the room feels a little wider.
What the research suggests
A 2019 study in Acta Bio Medica tracked heart rate and self-reported anxiety in listeners exposed to identical pieces tuned at 440 and 432 Hz. The 432 group showed measurably lower heart rate and lower anxiety scores.
Why it may work
Whole-number ratios: 432 Hz produces cleaner mathematical relationships with the body's natural rhythms.
Sympathetic resonance: lower fundamentals couple more efficiently with chest and skull cavities.
Cognitive ease: less harmonic friction means less subconscious processing load.
It is not magic. It is geometry meeting biology.
